The WE RISE Mujeres de Maiz project offered interactive art and wellness workshops as well as five community pop-up events during May and June of 2021, which focused on holistic modalities to address mental, physical and emotional health. The five community pop-ups occurred in each of the five county districts and in the four directions of Los Angeles County, highlights of these four events are brought to you here.
These intergenerational workshops provided professional facilitators in their prospective fields of art, wellness, and educational entertainment to activate space, facilitate artistic and creative community collaboration, educate, and create healthy and safe spaces for diverse communities.
All of those were originally live streamed, and are archived on Mujeres de Maiz’s social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Periscope for Twitter, and Instagram.
The pop-up events were small and intimate to follow the county’s COVID 19 protocol and regulations. Still, the healing and wellbeing was felt by all in attendance and repeatedly mentioned to the organizers.
